SPEAKSTAR KINDERGARTEN
(AGES 3–6)

SPEAK ACADEMY begins its educational journey with our English kindergarten, SPEAK STAR, welcoming children from the age of 3 and preparing them for a seamless transition into our primary school.

 

Founded in 2011, SPEAK STAR became the first English kindergarten in Banská Bystrica tooperate under the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. It was established by SPEAKLanguage School, building on more than 15 years of experience in language education and inresponse to parents seeking continuity in high-quality English education from an early age.

SPEAK STAR is a family-type kindergarten with a strong focus on an individual approach to eachchild. We believe every child is unique – and that every child is a star. Our warm, creativeenvironment and age-appropriate facilities support confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

 

Children grow up in a natural bilingual environment, learning Slovak and English

simultaneously through everyday communication rather than memorization. Part of ourteaching team communicates in English and part in Slovak, reflecting proven bilingualeducation practices. This approach ensures that children leave SPEAK STAR able to communicateconfidently in both languages.

 

A key strength of SPEAK STAR is its role as the foundation of the Speak Academy educationalpathway. Our preschool program is carefully aligned with the expectations and methods of ourprimary school, allowing children to transition smoothly, confidently, and without unnecessaryadaptation stress. By the time they enter our primary school, our graduates are academically, linguistically, socially, and emotionally prepared.

 

Alongside language development, we focus on Slovak literacy, social skills, independence, and school readiness. Our experienced team of qualified educators from Slovakia and abroad supports each child’s self-realization, motor skills, and communication abilities. Complementary clubs and activities are thoughtfully selected to match children’s interests and developmental needs.
